In the context of the Doctoral Training Unit on "Economic Insecurity: Causes, Consequences and Actions" (EICCA) established by the University of Luxembourg (UL ) and the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER ), with the financial support of the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) in the framework of its Program for Research Intensive Doctoral Education (PRIDE ), we are currently offering 5 PhD (Doctoral Candidate) positions for a duration of up to three years, with a possible extension to a fourth year. EICCA will train 14 social scientists from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds interested in the quantitative analyses of the causes and consequences of economic insecurity (EI) for individual's lives and society at large, and the understanding of the role that public policies play in mitigating or amplifying the size of these impacts - this is essential for the development of adequate policy actions addressing the rise of insecurity, and therefore the improvement of individual wellbeing.

Large Language Models (LLMs) and knowledge graph models are expected to harmonize the formats and semantics but there are many open questions about their proper customization, fine-tuning, extension to include context- or time-specific information and above all how to make all the process as much as automated as possible to support the automatic analytics pipeline generation and reconfiguration based on new data feeds. We look for researchers from diverse academic backgrounds to contribute to our projects in areas such as: Network Security, Information Assurance, Model-driven Security, Cloud Computing, Cryptography, Satellite Systems, Vehicular Networks, and ICT Services & Applications.

We look for researchers from diverse academic backgrounds to contribute to our projects in areas such as: Network Security, Information Assurance, Model-driven Security, Cloud Computing, Cryptography, Satellite Systems, Vehicular Networks, and ICT Services & Applications. While this can rely on recentely proposed telemetry framework extended from cloud solutions (such as OpenLLMetry), the research question is how to identify anomalies in collected information that can come from multiple AI services either invoked manually by users or by AI agents themselves.

We look for researchers from diverse academic backgrounds to contribute to our projects in areas such as: Network Security, Information Assurance, Model-driven Security, Cloud Computing, Cryptography, Satellite Systems, Vehicular Networks, and ICT Services & Applications. We look into systems in the small and how we can prepare them to withstand and operate safely and securely through accidental faults and targeted cyberattacks and how large scale constellations can achieve the same properties to protect for example, our energy grid.

The practical work will be complemented by fluid mechanics computer simulations, including solutions employing machine learning, and theoretical analysis using Leslie-Ericksen theory for liquid crystal flow as well as theory for viscoelasticity of polymeric liquids. You will be working practically in the lab using commercial rheometers, mechanical testers, polarizing microscopes etc., in addition to bespoke equipment built for establishing the controlled flow at tunable temperature and photopolymerization of the precursor.
