IT Technical Expert – Sybase & Kondor

Your Day to Day

As part of a dynamic IT team specialized in financial software solutions for securities lending operations, you will:

• Analyze and evaluate the current use of Sybase (version 15.7) databases, focusing on performance issues related to locking mechanisms.
• Identify root causes of performance bottlenecks within existing database processes.
• Design and propose technical improvements to optimize database queries and processes, ensuring system stability and no regression.
• Collaborate with third-party infrastructure providers to implement and validate performance enhancements.
• Work closely with other internal technical experts to support and improve operational efficiency around financial platforms, including Kondor and 4Sight.
• Contribute to technical documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and traceability of implemented changes.
• Participate in the evolution of best practices for database performance and system integration within a critical financial environment.

Your Profile

We are looking for a skilled professional with:

• Proven experience as a Sybase DBA or technical expert, ideally in a financial services or banking context.
• Deep understanding of database performance tuning, locking analysis, and query optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with enterprise-grade financial tools such as Kondor or similar market risk/treasury systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in collaboration with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Solid communication and documentation skills to ensure smooth coordination with IT teams and service providers.
• A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a structured IT development/production environment with change control procedures.
