Your area of responsibility

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join us as a Junior Accounting Expert (f/m/d) in our Strategic Finance & Controlling department, supporting our growing team located in Luxembourg-Kirchberg. In this role, you will take an active part in collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders with the following responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of SAP;

  • Take over responsibility for the day-to-day book keeping of financial and accounting transactions in SAP of the local asset management unit;

  • Independent preparation of month-end reportings and annual accounts according to Lux GAAP and IFRS;

  • Account receivables management including issuance of invoices, monitoring of cash inflows and issuance of credit notes;

  • Account payables management including review of incoming invoices, reconciliation, monitoring of creditor accounts and initiate local bank payments;

  • Maintenance of the standard chart of accounts in Lux GAAP and IFRS within SAP;

  • Being the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders (e.g. local management, auditors, tax advisors and banks) to deal with accounting and reporting matters;

  • As the technical accounting specialist, manage and provide ad hoc advice to the business and the functional head of the department;

  • Analyse and comment on important target / actual deviations relevant for overall functional performance;

  • Support in the cash-flow forecasting and liquidity management of the local asset management unit;

  • This position serves as an essential member of the Financial Team, both in Luxembourg and globally;

  • Maintain a good relationship with the individual finance departments across the globe and the group finance department in Switzerland

Your Profile

  • University degree – preferably with a major in accounting and controlling;

  • Up to 5 years of relevant job experience;

  • Expertise in IFRS and Lux GAAP, for stand-alone financial statements and consolidations;

  • Experience with SAP software (not required but beneficial);

  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Power Point, and Excel, with knowledge in VBA being a strong asset)

  • Strong German and English knowledge

  • Open-minded team player, proactive and organized, capable of prioritizing workload;

  • Flexibility, hands-on mentality, strong problem-solving skills;

  • Good knowledge of the organization and processes of insurance companies and/ or asset managers (beneficial);

  • Good knowledge in the usage of SAP would be an advantage
