Our client is a dynamic and innovative data center business operating in Southern Europe. Backed by a leading infrastructure investment fund, the company specializes in delivering high-quality colocation services to a diverse client base, including large national and multinational enterprises, financial institutions, hyperscalers, and IT service providers. The Project has started around a Tier 4 green data center, designed to operate sustainably with minimal environmental impact and powered by renewable energy sources.

This role presents a unique opportunity to establish and develop the IT function for a startup in Luxembourg. As one of the initial employees, you will play a vital role in shaping the company’s IT landscape. This position is ideal for a motivated professional seeking to expand their skills and grow into greater responsibilities while contributing to a pioneering sustainable business.

Position Overview

The (Junior) IT Manager will support the setup and ongoing management of the company’s IT systems. Reporting to the CTO, you will be hands-on in implementing and maintaining IT infrastructure, business applications, and security frameworks. Working independently and managing external partners, this role requires a proactive attitude and a willingness to grow in a fast-paced environment.

Your Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure Setup and Maintenance

  • Assist in designing and implementing the company’s IT infrastructure, including networks, hardware, and software systems.
  • Support IT operations for both office environments (desktop management) and the data center, focusing on scalability and sustainability.
  • Monitor and maintain IT systems to ensure reliability and minimal downtime.

Application and System Management

  • Help deploy and manage business applications (e.g., Salesforce, ServiceNow, Microsoft Dynamics) in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Support the integration of applications with hardware and other systems.
  • Assist in configuring, testing, and deploying new software and updates.

Operational and Technical Support

  • Act as the primary point of contact for IT support, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
  • Oversee the installation and configuration of endpoint devices such as PCs, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Manage IT inventory and procurement processes to meet operational needs.

Security and Compliance

  • Implement security measures to protect data and meet compliance standards (e.g., NIS2).
  • Maintain documentation to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.

Collaboration and Vendor Management

  • Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure high-quality IT solutions.
  • Work closely with internal teams to address IT needs and priorities.

Knowledge Building and Development

  • Document IT systems, procedures, and configurations for ongoing knowledge sharing.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • As of 3–5 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a related role, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, and business application platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Office 365).
  • Familiarity with data center environments and software (e.g., BMS, DCIM) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in security frameworks and authentication systems (e.g., Active Directory, MDM solutions) is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Experience in vendor coordination is a plus.

Why Join Them?

  • Be part of an innovative greenfield startup and contribute directly to its success.
  • Gain valuable experience while shaping the IT function in a dynamic, sustainable business.
  • Work with a passionate team of professionals in a fast-growing and impactful industry.
