The Banque centrale du Luxembourg (BCL), member of the Eurosystem, is currently seeking to recruit for its Market infrastructures and Oversight Department, a:


ECONOMIST PAYMENTS ANALYST (m/f)
Full time - (ref.: 31/OS/2021)


Your mission:

Within the Oversight Section, you will contribute to the analysis and monitoring of developments and risks linked to payment instruments, in particular payment cards, credit transfers, direct debits and e-money, as well as innovation in the field of electronic payments.


Your main responsibilities:

• Contribution to the oversight activities of payment instruments, schemes and arrangements used at Luxembourg and pan-European levels;
• Monitoring of risks, developments and innovations in the field of payments, in particular those related to electronic payments and analysis of evolutions in the field of payments and fraud;
• Collection and analysis of qualitative and statistical information related to overseen entities and participation in thematic meetings with the latter;
• Contribution to the definition of payment security standards;
• Participation and contribution to working groups and committees in this field;
• Preparation of reports, analyses, notes and publications in the field of payments instruments oversight.


Your profile:

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Economics, Finance, Management or a field relevant for this position;
• Relevant experience within the area of payments and/or knowledge in the field of electronic payment instruments would be considered as an asset;
• Knowledge of regulatory and supervisory frameworks in the field of payments would be an advantage;
• Knowledge of statistical tools;
• Proficiency in all standard office applications;
• Excellent command of English and French (both written and spoken), knowledge of German and/or Luxembourgish would be an advantage;
• Excellent writing, analytical and synthesis skills;
• Team spirit, initiative, communication skills and professional rigour.
